Connecting

Grace is a friendly church – very friendly! But there are steps you can take to really feel a part of things. These are some ways to connect with the church and build connections with others here.

Attend

With all that’s going on at Grace, Sunday morning worship services are still at the heart of how we gather. Make Sunday morning a priority. There you’ll find people like you who are looking for others with whom they can grow. And when you come, fill out a visitor card. It gives us a way to be in touch and get to know you better.

Connect

On Sunday morning we hear from God and get to know him better. But during the week we gather in Life Groups where we can listen to one another and get to know each other better. It’s easy to get lost in a crowd but small groups are a place where everyone knows your name and friendships are forged.

Volunteer

Getting to know people is usually a lot easier when you’re doing something together. Volunteering connects you with other people that share the same interests and passions that you have. We offer a wide variety of areas where you can serve.

Commitment does something for a relationship. When a man and a woman say, “I do,” it changes things. And in the same way, when a person moves from a guest to a member, it sends a message to those around them that they’re not just passing through but can be counted on. In any church, membership is a vital part of developing healthy long-term relationships.

The process isn’t difficult. Contact Paul, our lead pastor (pauls@gracebc.ca) to find out more.

GRACE KIDS

GRACE KIDS

Children are a really important part of our church. We want every child to feel welcome and discover how unique God has made each one of them! We believe that children are never too young to begin to experience the love of God and learn about His promises.

Nursery

We have a nursery facility on the lower level for infants and toddlers up to 2-1/2 years old. Our team of volunteers provide a safe and caring environment so parents can be worry-free and actively participate during both service times. Children will engage in stories, snacks, play and caring relationships. We have three connected rooms; a sleeping room, a change area/feeding area and a play room. Parents are asked to sign their children in and out and provide instructions to help us meet their needs.

Jr. Church

We think it is important for children to experience what church looks like from a young age. Pre-schoolers up to and including Grade 1 join us in the worship centre for the opening part of the 9 am worship service, and then parents take them downstairs at sermon time for their own age-related program. We have four teams made up of adults and junior helpers. First, the team leader will take attendance. In a big group setting, the children will explore God’s love through Bible stories, songs, verses, and kid-geared activities. For security purposes, parents are also asked to pick their children up once the service is done.

Children's Learning Centre

We are passionate about giving children sound spiritual direction. Our focus is on sound biblical teaching that is both fun and engaging. All children from pre-school age to Grade 6 meet in the downstairs fellowship hall during our second service from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. We open with prayer and attendance. We love to sing and make a joyful noise in our large group before breaking into three smaller age-appropriate age groups for teaching (Pre-school - J.K., S.K. – Grade 2 and Grades 3 – 6). We use a curriculum that encourages children to get to know their Bibles and memorize scripture verses. The children eagerly anticipate performing in an annual Christmas play.
Parents are asked to drop off and pick up their children from their small groups.

Please note that all volunteers working with our children have attended a Safe Church seminar and completed a Vulnerable Sector Screening. For more information regarding our Safe Church Policy, please contact the church officeinfo@gracebc.ca.

Youth

The GBC Youth Ministry is all about providing youth from Grade 7 - 12 with a safe place to journey through life and discover the love of God.

Friday Night Hangouts

Come hang out at the church on Friday evenings from 7:00pm - 9:00pm! During our Friday nights, we combine a mix of games, relevant large group teaching and caring small groups. Our hope is that the youth will encounter authentic community and build lasting relationships.

Youth Learning Centre

On Sunday mornings from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm, our youth (Gr. 7 - Gr. 12) meet to study God’s Word together. Join us in the youth room (located next to the church house) to discuss life, faith and growing as a follower of Jesus.

Retirees Luncheon - "LIFE AFTER FIFTY-FIVE" (L.A.F.F.)

We love our seniors and we’re convinced that there is life after fifty-five! And so we host a luncheon we call L.A.F.F. where we offer encouragement, singing, laughter and food. The program begins in the worship centre at 11:00 a.m. with the group participating in some good old-fashioned hymn singing, a few jokes, poems or stories, followed by an uplifting and challenging Bible message from a variety of speakers. A hot lunch is served downstairs at 12:00 noon.  We celebrate birthdays once a month.

Retirees of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy a good time of fellowship, laughter and the opportunity to make new friends. If you’re interested, contact the church for more information.

When? 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from 11 am to 1 pm.    Where? GBC Worship Centre
