Parking Lot Construction Update

Last week, I reported a plan to bury our topsoil around the perimeter of the parking lot after a couple of tests came back with slight contamination. Thankfully, the tests on our sub-grade soil were fine and the disposal facility agreed to take it. When the crew arrived to excavate, however, they initially balked at the engineer’s plan, fearing that digging too deep, too close to the property line, might result in the ground wall caving in, the fence being disturbed and possibly the neighbours’ yards being impacted. More discussions followed, leading to more delays, but eventually a compromise was reached to utilize a smaller digger with a narrower bucket, dig farther from the property line and backfill the topsoil as soon as the sub-grade is removed in order to avoid any impact to the adjacent properties. On Friday, work began to bury the topsoil and on Monday trucks are scheduled to arrive to carry away the sub-grade soil. Please continue to pray with us through this process.
