The flood showed that sin runs deeper than outward behaviour. Even after terrifying judgment, the human heart remained corrupt. This message looks at the covenant with Noah and why tougher laws and punishments alone can’t bring the change we need.

Tamar was a woman who faced the abuse of selfish men who used her instead of protecting her. How could God lift up someone so trodden down?
When something goes wrong, we’re quick to blame ourselves or others or God. We assume that trials must be punishments and we try to evaluate them to see whether they’re fair. Jesus shows us that punishment often isn’t the purpose at all. He points to God’s good purposes even in tragedy and shows us how to understand God’s working in our lives.
