Today’s Guest Speaker

Today we give a warm welcome to our guest speaker, Joseph Najem.

Bio:

As a nominal Christian in Beirut, Joseph questioned the meaning of life. One day a friend at work shared that the answer is in Jesus, and Joseph gave his life to Christ. His work with an advertising company opened his eyes to the spiritual needs of the region. Joseph began to pray that God would raise up Christian leaders. In time God called Joseph in answer to his own prayer. In 1990, Joseph left his job to attend Tyndale Theological Seminary in Toronto. Joseph returned to Lebanon with a vision to grow a mission’s movement with the Free Evangelical Association of Lebanon. Under his leadership, the mission team has expanded to 18 people serving in six Arab countries. The churches support refugee work in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.

Christmas Missions Projects 2018

We were given full details of how we could be a part of our Christmas Missions Offering to assist our missionary partners in their work, both here and around the world. We include the Richmond Hill Food Bank in this project to express love for those in need within our own community. This year we will also include a donation to Brad & Emily Morrice, Église du Plateau-Mont-Royal, a Montreal church plant. Our gift will help towards acquiring a new property that will be a launching pad for outreaches, and mercy ministries to provide free music lessons for underprivileged children. Our Missions Committee has also selected Alan and Esther, The Toronto Jewish Mission, to assist with their various outreach programs and feasts with Jewish people.

The Project will remain open till Sunday, December 30. Mark your gift ‘Christmas Projects 2018’, and please give generously. Our Digital Ministry Team has revamped our church Facebook strategy. If you haven’t liked our page yet, please follow us at “Grace Baptist Church of Richmond Hill” (www.facebook.com/gracebcrh). Paul’s articles will appear there every Wednesday and sermon audio and handouts on Sundays. Then throughout the week, you’ll see event updates and gospel-centred content that you can share with others.

2019 Offering Envelopes

We will soon be issuing 2019 weekly dated and numbered offering envelopes. If you have not previously used this means of giving your tithes and offerings to the Lord’s work at Grace Baptist Church, and wish a set of numbered envelopes, please let Seun Odunlami know either by email at seuno@gracebc.ca or by a note in her mailbox by December 2nd.

Email Announcements

Starting today, we are offering our church announcements by email. Don’t worry, your paper announcements will still be in your bulletin at church and if you’d prefer not to receive this weekly email, you’re free to opt out at any time. We’re providing announcements by email because people have asked for them and because it will help keep people up-to-date even if they are away on a particular Sunday or misplace their paper announcement sheet. If you didn’t receive the announcements by email this morning, it’s because we don’t have your email address. If you’d like to receive them, please send an email to pauls@gracebc.ca. In the coming weeks, we’ll provide an “email only” option for people who want to help preserve the environment and not receive paper announcements.
